FULL-TIME I.T. Network Administrator

ROLE: Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of network systems, servers, desktops, and communication links. Manage the resources dedicated to supporting office automation, Desktops and end-user equipment in accordance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements. Work with CIO on short and long-term design and strategy.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Provide primary support for the Credit Union’s network, servers, desktops and terminals which includes implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and system hardware and software. Formally implement change and modifications utilizing change management processes and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain patch management of all operating systems, firmware, apps and applications.
• Evaluate network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment. Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems, and escalating problems to vendor.
• Defines and develops network policies and procedures.
• Maintain Credit Union readiness by maintaining and testing D/R and H/A systems.

Education and Experience

• Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
• Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field).
• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive interaction with others. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts are important along with fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals).
• Experience in supporting virtual Infrastructure PC/LAN hardware, software and communication products.
• Experience with, but not limited to, VMware VSphere & Horizon, Server 2012 and above, Windows 10 for the Enterprise, Enterprise Patch management, Troubleshooting network TCP/IP transport issues, Cloud Infrastructure, and Digital communication systems. Ability to discuss technical issues effectively with other data processing professionals as well as non-technical users.

• Ability to communicate professionally with other I.S. personnel, vendor support staff and users.
