A guard shack attendant’s job is to ensure efficient operation at the plant.This would include identifying and reporting safety hazards and ensuring all safety measures are in place. In addition, the guard shack attendant will verify driver’s tickets and assist in getting a trailer assigned for loads. He or she will ensure that drivers are on time and coordinate entries and exits of the yard.

• Ensure compliance with all posted and required OSHA and Company Safety Policies and a commitment to providing a safe environment for themselves, co-workers and visitors to the facility
• This includes reporting any potentialhazards to management immediately and when possible correcting or isolating the risk
• Keep work area safe, clean and orderly
• Ability to work extended hours
• Verify driver tickets and trailer numbers
• Turn over driver tickets for processing
• Audit delivery documents as needed
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

• High School Diploma or GED
• Up to ayear experience

• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Ability to physically perform all essential job functions
• Be able to work all hours and shifts including overtime, weekends and holidays

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling
