We are looking for an Aircraft Weights and Measurements Technical Analyst to become the site focal for weighing and balancing aircraft/Assembly Components and verifying center of gravity across multiple airplane programs. This person will develop complex inventory equipment lists, conduct inventories, weigh aircraft, determine center of gravity of aircraft and documents results. They will prepare Chapter 2 of the Weight and Balance Manual, balance flight control surfaces and calculate/adjust weight requirements to balance flight control surfaces following repair and/or repaint. They will also develop flight load planning and direct airplane loading of variable load elements, inspect aircraft to calculate effects of actual weight and location of variable load elements on airplane gross weight and center of gravity, and prepare flight manifests for pilot’s signatures and flight release.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A strong background in jacking and shoring of military and/or commercial aircraft
* An understanding of mechanical and safety processes to lift an aircraft
* Experience in the preparation and completion of Chapter 2 of the Weight and Balance Handbook
This position will regularly coordinate aircraft weighs with site Operations and Engineering and communicate weight/balance information to government and internal customers clearly and effectively and offer innovative input for process improvements regarding weighing/balancing aircraft.
