The Cloud Enterprise Architect (EA) will provide architecture and solutioning oversite for all aspects of BFS cloud areas including the evolution of the cloud strategy and scaling of cloud tooling. This Cloud EA is responsible for overseeing the company’s cloud computing, aligning strategic business vision with information technology, by defining the strategy and overall vision for IT applications and components.

This role will develop and maintain the high-level design for BFS IT cloud architecture and communicate that plan to others within the organization. The Cloud EA must map, define, and standardize technology, data, and business processes for a sustainable, long-term technology roadmap. This position requires a self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contribute to and execute on IT strategy to ensure alignment with the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Provide leadership in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud including implementation of Azure or AWS within in global enterprise environments.
• Maintain a holistic view of the organization’s strategy, processes, information, and technology assets.
• Partner with business and technology subject experts to translate business requirements into technological solutions.
• Coordinate, review and approve projects to ensure that they are compliant with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Present to stakeholders on how architectural options will meet their needs.
• Monitor and analyze industry, technology, and market trends to determine their potential impact or application for the organization.
• Participate in digital strategy decisions and provide digital business model consulting within IT teams.
• Help business leaders and their teams think through the technology, business, and operational implications of their technology investment decisions.
• Conduct research and Proofs of Concept on emerging technologies in support of anticipated development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and infrastructure flexibility.
• Act as consultant to the organization by continuously researching and studying the latest trends and issues.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in architecting and deploying software solutions in Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS and supporting cloud solutions.
• Experience in enterprise architecture or application architecture, application development and/or systems management.
• Strong understanding of software, hardware, architecture frameworks, and corporate technology and trends.

COMPETENCIES

• Subject matter expert in Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS cloud services, design, and implementation
• Experience implementing and maintaining large scale cloud ERP systems, including interfacing with other SaaS and PaaS services/providers.
• Experience with cloud-based security, networking, and storage.
• Experience with operational optimization of cloud environments, including data replication, disaster recovery, logging, monitoring, and performance improvement.
• Experience in IT architecture, solution design, integration patterns and system implementation models.
• Familiarity with cloud provider billing and cost allocation.
• Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• Established strategic and critical analysis skills
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

In addition to the base wage listed, this position is also eligible to earn an annual bonus subject to changes in plan design and documents and in accordance with applicable law.
