The Orthopedic/Neurology (Ortho/Neuro) 7th floor is a 35-bed unit where growth and learning opportunities continue as licensed staff achieve their NIH Stroke Scale certification built into nursing orientation. Staff use a variety of their assessment and nursing skills plus tend to build longer patient relationships and work easily with different teams (nursing and therapy teams). The average patient mix is 75% Orthopedic/Neurology patients and 25% medical surgical overflow. The unit is supported by a team consisting of the Unit Secretary, Patient Care Technicians, Transporters, Nutrition Ambassadors, RN’s, RN Shift Supervisor’s, a Clinical Educator, the Nurse Manager and Director along with a strong Physical and Occupational Therapy presence working as a cohesive team to ensure excellent patient car

Qualifications
Education/Licensures/Certifications:
Current RN license or issue of TBON Graduate Nurse Permit
CPR certified from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Assess, plan, evaluates, documents total nursing process
Organized, self-motivated with exceptional follow-through skills
Computer skills necessary; Epic documentation
Multi-task constantly and tolerate multiple interruptions
Clear and effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
Compassionate customer service skills
