Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant follows established accounting practices and ensures the proper and accurate distribution of financial reporting and controls within Bradford-Scott Sharetec.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including maintaining the General Ledger
- Review accounts to ensure that they are accurate, reconciled and complete.
- Take responsibility for an effective and efficient general ledger close.
- Research accounting matters for compliance with US GAAP, including 606 and 842.
- Assist with audit requests and answer initial questions.
- Review/prepare monthly account reconciliations for all general ledger accounts and validate accuracy and substance of schedules supporting the reconciliations.
- Manage fixed asset ledger and project accounting.
- Assist with financial modeling to assist managers in the day-to-day accomplishment of their financial/revenue goals.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent education. CPA is a plus.
- 5+ years of industry experience. Public accounting experience a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of problem solving ability and critical thinking.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel (specifically data analysis, pivot tables).
- Great Plains/Dynamics knowledge preferred.
- Microsoft Business Central experience preferred.
- Professional Services Accounting exposure preferred.
- Ability to review a process, propose and help execute improvements is critical.
