Boart Longyear Looking for Global HR/Employee Development Manager at Salt Lake City, UT Full Time

Job Description:

Boart Longyear has an exciting opening for a new Global Employee Development Manager. If you are looking for a hands on strategic HR role, this may be the perfect position for you. As the Employee Development Manager you will have the opportunity to build and create a new function within our global HR team. You will help to build Boart Longyear’s brand and practices to move us to a recognized global employment leader. This role is an exciting opportunity if you have a background and experience in systems or methodologies which will support employee and leadership development, organization development, career development systems and talent management.

A key component of this role will be to design and create initiatives which support and are embraced by our global operations team. Your approach and initiatives will lead us to increased levels of retention, and engagement across the business and especially in our field roles. In this role, you will be a member of the senior HR team and will help in tackling some of the most critical and challenging aspects of our business.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university or college, Master’s Degree preferred
Minimum 8+ years in global or large business in relevant Talent or Employee Engagement related roles. This could be a mix of experience including organizational design, leadership development or talent management
Coaching, talent, OE, OD, assessment or other professional certifications preferred
Strong project management experience required
Demonstrated experience implementing initiatives in a multicultural, multilingual environment
Experience leading or managing marketing or communications functions preferred
Experience using technology and applications to build healthy and interesting approaches to communications
Strong business acumen – analytical and project/process management skills
Prior experience in managing, leading, coaching, influencing and developing people
Prior experience in strategic planning and organization design

Job Duties:

Reviews, designs and syndicates new approaches to career paths and job progression for all levels
Works closely with compensation leader to ensure salary structures are consistent
Design, develop and execute various talent and leadership development events / processes
Develop and implement developmental processes such as talent assessments, strategic staffing and leadership pipeline development
Implement initiatives to build retention and employee engagement at all levels
Work with operational leaders, EHS leaders and HR Directors (HRDs) to improve operational attendance and missed crew shifts
Build leadership competencies across the organization
Work with the CHRO and any partners to progress leadership development program and ensure delivery of the Boart Longyear Academy
Help provide leadership and direction for internal branding and communications
Track and communicate monthly retention, attendance, diversity and engagement KPI’s
Lead annual Human Resources talent review processes including timeline setting, manager training, senior staff reviews, succession plan development, Drill System ownership and auditing
Design practical succession planning processes and support HRDs and CHRO in delivering those plans
Maintain strong working relationships and act as a liaison to the global HR and Operations teams
Foster and champion initiatives and processes to enhance talent pipeline development, recruitment strategies, internships and early/mid-career pipelines/programs, and on-boarding and employee engagement
Provide guidance for use of key HR tools for leadership and coaching of team members
Always ensure compliance and integrity of key HR policies, practices and systems
Assist in the development of programs/processes surrounding diversity
Provide leadership in a matrixed organization for the regional employee development team members
