Overview:
We are looking for a General Ledger Accountant to be a part of our growing Global Financial Services Operation. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and ensuring the integrity of our accounts. The position is responsible for high volume transactional reconciliations, preparing necessary information for financial and/or management reporting and including ad hoc analysis of accounts, trends and variances. The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and should be able to build relationships with the Settlement, Technology, Corporate accounting, and other cross functional teams. As a key employee for our core business focused financial accounting, the General Ledger Accountant will support the growing business in our rapidly expanding operation.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for high volume, complex account reconciliations, identifying areas of risk, developing new processes to mitigate risk, enhancing data accuracy and implement process solutions.
Responsible for period end duties including accruals and preparing schedules as required to support accurate reporting of financial results
Maintain general ledger accounts and perform accounting analysis for cash accruals, account payables, and balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
Responsible for working with internal and external parties to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate and timely financials
Drive variance analysis and other ad hoc financial and management reporting as need
Support departmental goals and service levels, cross training, and providing additional coverage as necessary.
Qualifications:
BA/ BS in Accounting or Finance required
Minimum 5+ years of related Accounting experience.
Experience in all cycles of a financial closing process (revenue recognition, accrual set-up and execution, account reconciliation, etc.) and complete understanding of GAAP reporting requirements, internal controls and SOX compliance
Experience working in a high transaction volume environment and navigating through complex structure, system, and processes identifying opportunities for automation and/or improvement
CPA or MBA preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Experience with ERP System, Microsoft D365 a plus
Possess a high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and resourcefulness in order to meet schedules and deadlines. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, interpolate results from large amounts of data identifying trends and drawing conclusions
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills needed to develop collaborative working relationships within GL team and cross functional teams.
Ability to work independently and resourcefully with minimal supervision to take on new tasks with varying levels of difficulty and see them through to completion.
Travel less than 5% of time
