Beyond Academy Looking for Online English Writing/Reading Teacher- Part-Time Contractor at Remote Full Time

Beyond Academy (https://thebeyondacademy.com/) is a one-stop online learning platform for both parents and children. We offer a variety of the online courses including multilingual language communications, leadership development, logical thinking, and mathematics enhancement, self-confidence and emotional management, etc.

We’re searching for personable, committed, qualified, and virtual English writing/reading teachers teaching primarily 3th~9th grade students focusing on improving writing/reading. Generally, classes run 60-90 minutes, and meet once a week or twice a week online.

· Developing and designing curriculum as needed

· Expected to teach 1-3 classes per quarter depending on availability and demand

· Developing and grading assignments

· Tracking and observing students’ progress to achieve the best learning outcome

Working Hours:

· Classes are usually held between 5PM to 9PM (Central Time) on weekdays and 9 AM to 8PM (Central Time) on weekends

Class Size:

· One on One; 3-6 students

Qualifications:

· A bachelor’s degree or above in English, English literature, linguistics or education preferred

· Teaching various methods and approaches to help students understand the reading and writing concepts

· At least 2 years of relevant experience in teaching English writing and reading courses or tutoring in any school settings

· Strong knowledge of Grammar, Reading and Writing/Creative Writing

· Strong knowledge of SAT reading and writing test and how to identify the gaps and help ~8th grade students prepare for future SAT tests

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teaching skills, time management and organizational skills.

· Teaching Certificate is preferred

· Knowledge of instructional design and educational technology

· Available to work on weekday evenings and weekends

Equipment Requirements:

· Computer/laptop with fast Internet connection (minimum 1.2 Mbps)

· USB headset and webcam

· Quiet room/office to conduct courses

Salary:

$30-50 / per hour depending on combination of experience and education
