Description
Job Purpose: Safe and timely operation of equipment and performance of duties used to process company product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain cooker temperatures
Ensure proper operation of equipment (presses, grinder, cookers screws & augers, bird and etc.)
Ensure product is going into the proper tanks and bins
Ensure that the proper material is coming from the proper tanks and bins.
Maintain communication with boiler operator
Must be familiar with the raw material off loading procedures and communicate with render operators
Must become knowledgeable of CMPAF (Cattle Material Prohibited in Animal Feed) Material Procedure
Perform misc. duties assigned by the Foreman
Communicate verbal and written instructions
Must be able to recognize potential hazards in the cooking operation
Knowledge of safe work procedures including “lock out tag out” and “confined space entry”
Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
Follow department and company procedures
Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Manufacturing experience helpful
Less than 5% travel requirement
This is a third shift position
Physical Demands/Requirements:
Constantly (over 2/3):
Move and transport materials up to 50-100 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
Must be able to position self to perform duties around industrial equipment and materials that are hot or hazardous chemical materials
Frequently (1/3-2/3):
Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
Ascends/descends heights while maintaining balance
Utilizes tools and equipment such as a shovel to move material
Occasionally (under 1/3):
Detect and observe conditions that need to be addressed
Electronically and manually completes logs/reports
Communicates with staff in the process of performing duties
