The Role
AspenTech is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the team as an SEC Reporting Accountant. The ideal candidate possesses a strong set of research, analytical, and problem-solving skills, is a great communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Manager of SEC Reporting and can work remote from the Company’s headquarters in Bedford, MA.
Your Impact
- Assist in the Company’s external financial reporting process, including preparation of its quarterly and annual reporting (Form 10-Q and Form 10-K), earnings release (Form 8-K), and assisting the preparation of the annual Proxy (14A)
- Prepare supporting schedules, memos, and documentation for SEC filings
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, statement of equity, cash flow statement, and weighted average shares outstanding
- Prepare government reporting, such as reporting requirements of US Census Bureau
- Review and prepare variance analyses and participate in other ad-hoc projects
- Perform internal controls over the financial reporting process
- Support the internal and external audit and quarterly reviews
- Perform monthly accounting close tasks such as journal entries and reconciliations in areas such as leases, equity and other business accruals
- Prepare quarterly accounting memos for the respective accounting areas
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or with an emphasis in accounting)
- 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience using Oracle ERP system a plus
- Experience using Workiva a plus
- Experience using Lease Accelerator a plus
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to tailor communications to the respective audience
- Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed
- Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment
