JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting operations for assigned areas of responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all aspects of the monthly close process for assigned areas of responsibility.
Designs, implements and maintains effective internal controls (including sufficient documentation of data validation) to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Reviews monthly general ledger account reconciliations, fluctuation analysis, financial reports, and financial statement disclosures.
Ensures that all financial transactions are properly accounted for in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
Coordinates the activities of external auditors for all areas of responsibility.
Responsible for managing a team of accounting professionals.
Collaborates with other functional leaders including the financial planning and analysis team in the budgeting and forecast processes.
Performs other duties as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position manages subordinate employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management, hiring, and discipline of subordinate employees.
Minimum Required Qualifications (External):
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business required.
5+ years of related experience is required.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
Public company experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations
CPA designation required.
