If this sounds exciting, we hope you will consider a place in our team! What is the role? We are seeking a motivated engineer to drive material development in the areas of woven and knit textiles. The position requires you to drive strategic next generation materials, engage in hands-on project-based work, and establish key material supplier relationships. Key Qualifications
In-depth understanding of material structure and property/performance relationship
Strong background in characterizing and specifying materials and performance using design of experiments
New technology/material scoping, including evaluation of supplier capabilities
Experience developing materials for mass production
Proven track record in peer collaboration and teamwork
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and resolution to solve complex problems
Description
– Collaborate with industrial design, product design and manufacturing teams on material selection, design feasibility and manufacturing process development that meets performance, aesthetics and other product requirements – Creation of material specifications based on critical to quality attributes for product design – Utilize appropriate statistical and/or data analysis tools that translate these material critical attributes into repeatable and capable manufacturing process – Establish and manage relationships with manufacturers/suppliers to identify emerging technologies
Education & Experience
– Master’s degree or PhD in Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Textile Engineering or related fields. – 2-3+ years proven experience in yarn and textile constructions preferred.

Product Design Engineer starts at a minimum annual salary $107,500. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
