Title: IT Support Specialist

Location: Remote with regular travel to NH lodges (Pinkham Notch and Highland Center)

Reports To: Director of Information Technology

Founded in 1876, the Appalachian Mountain Club (www.outdoors.org) is the oldest conservation, education and recreation organization in the United States. The AMC promotes the protection, enjoyment, and wise use of the mountains, rivers and trails of the Appalachian region. The AMC encourages the involvement of all people in its mission and activities, through its membership, programs, policies, and procedures.

The Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) seeks an IT Support Specialist to join the technology team and contribute to helping build out an AMC IT knowledge base to support users both on site and remote.

The IT Support Specialist role assists the technology team to ensure that the AMC’s central computer systems and the desktop computer systems run reliably and efficiently. This includes diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems on Windows and Mac devices, Windows servers, and Network issues. User technical support and desktop systems are this role’s primary responsibility. Assisting in the development and implementation an IT knowledge base, SharePoint, management of central systems are additional responsibilities. Candidate must be self-motivated, efficient and hard working with a positive attitude.

What you’ll be doing:

• Actively monitor helpdesk and ensure tickets are taken care of in a timely manner.
• Assist in building out AMC IT Knowledge base
• Assist users onsite and at remote locations with their tech needs
• Troubleshoot & resolve issues via phone, web and in person
• Assist in operational responsibilities of IT department, Day to day functioning of systems and networks
• Manage and assist with projects and tasks
• Collaborate with team to improve processes and tools
• Document and communicate current issues with team members and management
• Interact with end users, internal AMC staff, and vendors

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience
• 5+ Years of experience in a helpdesk role
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite, networking experience (Firewalls, Switches, Routers/Access Points, cabling infrastructure), troubleshooting skills, Windows Server, Windows 10, Mac OS, AWS, Desktop Support, Documenting work
• Linux knowledge is a plus
• Ability to apply technical knowledge in a logical and efficient manner to resolve problems quickly and completely is required
• Thorough knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 2012 Server and higher, and Mac OS required
• Display characteristics of high-quality service: reliable, responsive, accessible, professional, responsible
• Excellent oral and written communication, and prioritization skills
• Demonstrates imitative in recommending enhancements & improvements to IT infrastructure
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Active Directory, SQL server, Sophos Antivirus and Firewall, SharePoint, HTML, VoIP, Adobe Suite, internet and security technologies is helpful
• Able to work in a team environment
• Knowledge of Maestro property management software and Retail Pro POS is a plus

Compensation and benefits:

Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000/Year
