About The Position
The Materials Management Engineer performs activities related to the procurement, receipt, and storage of parts, materials, components, as well as services for the Callaway Energy Center.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop, review and establish the technical requirements for procurement, receipt, and storage of Safety Related (SR), Special Scope (SS) and other components, parts, materials and services critical to the Callaway Energy Center (CEC) in accordance Ameren policies and CEC procedures, policies and licensing documents.
Provide technical guidance and support to CEC and Ameren Supply Chain as well as CEC co-workers for the procurement, receipt and storage of non-safety related parts, materials, components, and services.
Develop, review and establish the technical, testing and inspection requirements for the Commercial Grade Dedication of parts, materials and components in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and CEC procedures, policies and licensing documents.
Establish the safety classification of parts, materials, component and services.
Initiate and assist in the development of Requests for Resolution documents.
Review for comment specifications related to CEC plant changes and other CEC activities and procurements.
Support the sale and procurement of parts, materials and components from other utilities within and outside the nuclear industry during scheduled and non-scheduled business hours.
Evaluate, disposition and review Condition Reports including those related to Adverse Conditions and Other Issues.
Hold a position in the CEC Radiological Emergency Response Plan (RERP), participate in RERP Drills and Exercises, and respond to actual events.
Periodically perform Call-Out of Storekeepers and Material Controllers as needed to support plant activities and other utilities.
Utilize lessons learned, best practices and innovative approaches to continually improve work processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution is required. Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering degree preferred. One or more years of nuclear power experience with Supply Chain experience preferred. Candidate should be proficient in forecasting and scheduling and should be detail-oriented.
Technical career path level depends upon applicants’ credentials and position market pay range.
