About the Position
Twitch is looking for a Security Engineer to join our Security Engineering (SecEng) team. Reporting to the SecEng manager as part of the greater Security Architecture & Engineering organization, our team’s mission is to empower Twitch communities to build securely. We are a new team looking for people that enjoy deep diving on technical details, driving down vulnerabilities, and providing tools as products to uplift Twitch’s security posture. As a Security Engineer on SecEng, you will work with teams across the organization to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities relevant to Twitch infrastructure. You will build and maintain security tooling and services to support the expanding needs of the Twitch Security organization. You will research and prototype new technologies and systems to support these ends. You will work directly with Twitch teams to gather requirements and support existing solutions. You will directly contribute to the ever evolving team goals and strategic planning.
You will have experience with one or more security relevant domains and will have a passion for security and learning new things. Hungry to learn, you will grow with the team through both internal and external training, as well as through mentorships with other Twitch engineers. You Will:
* Build automation to determine which vulnerabilities need to be prioritized for remediation
* Work with teams across the company to prioritize the remediation of identified vulnerabilities
* Develop Infrastructure as Code in CDK and Ansible for security tooling we operate
* Review and improve the operability of our services through the addition of new metrics and alerts
* Participate in a (very quiet) 24×7 oncall rotation supporting Twitch Security’s use of our tools
You Have:
* Have a clear understanding of cloud computing services/deployment architecture
* 2+ years of demonstrated experience (including internships and large extracurricular academic projects) with focus in areas such as systems, network, operations, software development, or security; design, implementation, support, and evaluation of security-focused tools and services
Bonus Points
* Fluency with AWS
* You understand essential security concepts such as least privilege and ?
* You’ve worked with Splunk, ElasticSearch, or other log management platforms
* You understand how to work with large data sets
* You have experience in at least one of the following languages: Go, Ruby, Java, C++, Python
* Experience working with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)
* Experience providing tooling used by other engineers
* Experience identifying security risks and developing mitigation plans
