Job Description Summary: As a member of Airgas’s Engineering Solutions Group, this individual will play a key role in the growth of Airgas’s bulk, industrial, and Specialty Gas business through the design and installation of equipment to support Airgas’s portfolio of gas applications to the various industries we serve. With a focus on Safety, Functionality and Reliability, both internally and externally, this position will be focused on providing Airgas customers with support and development of complete process solutions, including gasses, technology and equipment.

Required Qualifications
2 Years of experience in field
Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Cryogenic Air Separation operational experience and knowledge is desirable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, especially in regards to communicating effectively when interfacing with experts in areas such as IT, Process Controls, or Mechanical systems.
Basic knowledge of chemical engineering equipment such as compressors, pumps, exchangers, distillation, reactors, valves, instruments
Preferred Qualifications
Improve and maintain the efficiency and production capacity of Airgas Merchant Gases (AMG) production facilities. These facilities include Cryogenic ASUs, VSAs, Liquid CO2 plants, Hydrogen Liquefiers and H2 SMRs across the United States.
Identify opportunities for overall process improvements resulting in increased efficiency or production
Perform Engineering Feasibility analysis and cost benefit analysis for opportunities to acquire capital funding
Execute efficiency projects in collaboration with Plant, Zone and other Operations Support staff
Execute advanced controls projects such as Advanced Process Control and Liquefier Autostart in collaboration with Process Controls, Plant, Zone and other Operations Support staff
Conduct efficiency assessments of AMG facilities, developing reports and action items based on findings and working with regional engineering and production teams to ensure follow-through on task list items.
Work with process controls team to implement controls improvements to improve efficiency and increase production
Provide engineering support to AMG production facilities.
Assist production managers in troubleshooting process upsets and aligning our assets to meet production requirements in the most economical manner possible.
