Agility Consultants, LLC looking for Biologist – Remote Position at Vienna, VA  Full Time

The biologist, working closely with the client, develops a framework for conducting inspections and surveys.  Using this framework, this position carries out biological inspections and surveys.  This position also participates in and provides guidance on wetlands restoration projects.  These duties will be carried out both onsite and offsite.     

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The below duties and responsibilities are essential core functions of this position.  Other duties may be assigned as needed.
 

• Researches, evaluates, and identifies a viable framework for conducting inspections and surveys
• Conducts on-site and off-site biological analysis, inspections, and surveys
• Provides guidance and expertise in wetland restoration plans
• Creates and maintains reports, surveys, and related documents regarding inspections and other biological data
• Regularly communicates with management and the client and appropriately responds to questions and concerns 
• Attends and effectively participates in meetings, trainings, and similar engagements
• Maintains effective relationships with Agility staff, the client’s staff, and any other associated parties
• Travels up to 20% of work time

Job Qualifications:
Below are the minimum requirements necessary for this position.
 

• Bachelor’s degree in wildlife, environmental sciences, wetland restoration ecology, or a related conservation field
• Minimum of two years of experience in field investigations, wetland restoration, conducting surveys, or a related experience
• Demonstrated knowledge of biological field inspections and surveying best practices
• Knowledge of leading-edge restoration concepts and techniques
• Project management knowledge
• Ability to think strategically
• Knowledge of and ability to develop and implement an inspection and surveying framework
• Ability to learn and understand regulations, laws, and policies related to the inspections, surveys, and restoration projects
• Proven communication skills
• Ability to write thorough and precise reports
• Exceptional organizational, analytical and attention to detail skills
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
• Ability to operate within the timelines
• Ability to stay abreast of industry best practices and any associated regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with others as well as a demonstrated ability to work independently
• Ability to create a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in wildlife, environmental sciences, wetland restoration ecology, or a related conservation field
