AFC Transport is a trucking company that is located in the Northwest Indiana region and the Chicagoland area! We are looking to grow and expand our team with talented individuals.

Description of Position

The individual in this position is responsible for multiple accounting functions. They will need to be self-sufficient and disciplined. The person in this position will also be responsible for different accounts for multiple companies. They will need to have knowledge of reconciling all bank statements and credit card purchases. This individual will be directly under the controller of the department. This position will be partially remote and partially in office at our Gary Indiana location.

Responsibilities and Expectations

Reconcile all banking and credit card transactions for the companies

*
Responsible for paying out all customers

• Maintain all accounting functions for our maintenance shop

*
Organizing and managing all equipment loans with the bank

*
Maintaining audits on the maintenance account

*
Responsible for having knowledge in accounts payable functions for all companies

*
Become familiar with all accounting and transportation systems

*
McLeod

*
Record all cash items into McLeod

*
ACH, Checks, Bank Accounts

*
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills
*
Bachelors in accounting preferred

*
This person will need to have an extensive background in accounts payable and monthly closings.

*
A minimum of 5 years account experience, preferably within a transportation setting.

*
Ability to work independently at the office or remotely.

*
Will need high attention to detail for reconciliation and confirming all accounts payable functions.

Organizing all daily tasks and prioritizing each accounting function according to importance.

Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with deadlines to meet.

Pay: $55,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
