WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Build, run, and analyze performance of benchmarks and application on GPU accelerated platforms
- Assess the capabilities of development tools and runtime environment in terms of capabilities, performance, and usability.
- Explore the benefits of different code optimization techniques
- Example projects include:
- Optimize communication patterns for HPC applications
- Investigate how GPU development tools can be adapted to future AMD GPUs
- Identify and measure performance capabilities across GPU families.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Classes in HPC and Machine Learning topics
- Experience using AMD or Nvidia GPU compute products
- C/C++ programming skills
- Familiarity with Linux command line
- Working knowledge of scripting and relevant programming languages, tools, APIs including Python, C/C++, sh/batch scripting
- Experience using build tools (make, cmake) and containers (Docker, Singularity)
WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART:
- Experience with performance analysis, hot-spot identification
- Experience developing GPU kernels, analyzing and quantifying benefits of GPU offloading
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Passionate about technology, looking to exploit GPUs to improve application performance
- Masters or PhD candidate in relevant field

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package. Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
