SOC VERIFICATION AND TEST ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a talented and motivated engineer to fill in a role that is pivotal, with duties of enhancing AFX and AFX-Farm performance, addressing AFX continually improvements, facilitating HPC test integration with AFX, and providing support to users. (AFX is a testbench developed internally. It is a debugging tools that AMD AECG teams rely on daily. AMD HPC teams are also in the process of integrating AFX into their workflow for debugging and diagnostic purposes.)
THE PERSON:
The successful applicant will work with cross functional teams of Si design, Si verification, and system level test to develop/maintain AFX HW/SW and facilitate timely supporting test/debug activities for new product introduction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Take ownership of the development and maintenance of AFX development including software and FPGA design, timely support AFX usage and provide training to users.
* Continually improve performance, reliability, and add new features to AFX.
* Document and tracking SW/HW changes and engineering usage of AFX.
* Make contribution to next generation of AFX development.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* Familiar with Python and C low level programming and debugging.
* Work experience in verifying/testing/debugging SOC low level software and hardware issues.
* Strong analytic, communication and teamwork skills
* Experience with embedded software development and debug tools, including compilers, GIT, emulators, UART, JTAG and serial debuggers.
* FPGA design experience with Vivado IP generation.
* Experience related to PetaLinux configuration and boot image creation.
* Familiar with ARM processor architecture and Xilinx MicroBlaze.
* SOC pre-silicon simulation and post-silicon validation.
* Experience with debugging processor and cache related issues on bench.
* Work experience related to system test.
* Familiar with system boot sequence such as BSP (Board Supporting Package) and FSBL (First Stage Boot Loader)
