Description:
The engineer will provide senior electromechanical engineering support to a NASA mission for a robotics application. The support will primarily be in the testing, integration and validation of performance of the electromechanical components and completed system. Will be tested to ensure that the mechanisms and systems work to the system requuirements.
Job duties include:
Creating and reading manufacturing drawings of parts and assemblies.
Presenting and supporting integration & test reviews.
Writing and reviewing assembly procedures.
Writing and reviewing testing procedures.
Planning test campaigns and writing test scripts.
Writing work order documentation for assembly and test activities.
Assessing complex issues and recommending resolution to the team and management; implement resolutions.
Using PTC CREO and Windchill CAD modeling and Product Data Management software at a proficient skill level – primarily for the review and insight into design files.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3+ years of related experience, Masters, and 1 years or more experience;
Experience with hardware integration and test, system verification and validation, and systems engineering, preferably in aerospace but other relavent experience in high reliability systems would be applicable.
Experience in testing, test development, managing test runs, tracking test results, troubleshooting, and measuring progress
Experience troubleshooting complex systems using various types of test equipment, fixtures, brackets and other pieces of MGSE (Mechanical Ground Support Equipment)
Experience in authoring and maintaining technical documentation
Experience in executing tests for mechanical and electromechancal hardware, including functional testing (front-end, back-end, and performance testing)
Experienced at authoring and maintaining project documentation and in resolving technical and schedule issues in order to ensure that deliverables are met on schedule
Proficiency in advising management, inside and outside own organization, on system architecture, technical results, or risks
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience with robotic systems or complex mechanisms a plus.
Experience in system integration and test of spacecraft or flight instruments
Experience handling and testing engineering units and flight hardware
Proficiency in exercising discretion and independent judgment in evaluating potential approaches and solutions to critical problems and determining appropriate resolutions
Experience with NASA mission life cycle and review cycle (design reviews, requirements reviews, integration reviews, trade studies, etc.)
