The Vice President – HVAC Segment Drive Products is an experienced industry influencer who leads the HVAC segment in the US by demonstrating deep industry domain expertise and knowledge.
The position requires direct development and manager of sales (direct and indirect), channel management, application engineering, marketing, account management and business development. In addition to direct responsibilities, the position requires close collaboration with R&D, product management and finance, while satisfying the expectations of local and global senior leadership.

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for HVAC Drives Sales Orders & Revenue, Gross Margin & EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, and depreciation amortization) while maintaining desired share of available market and assigned growth
• Manage, coach, and lead commercial HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Cooling) Sales/Account Manager’s on individual large projects and general local market strategies
• Participate in the strategy and execution of new product sales launches. Analyze National HVAC market environment relative to competitive positioning and value propositions
• Manage the national and regional forecasting function to identify and track sales to attainment of targets
• Analyze account potential and motivate the sales effort at the distributor, account, and regional levels for optimum market penetration and growth
• Being well informed about current industry trends, competitor landscape and being able to communicate effectively about the HVAC industry and the commercial bid process. Oversee contract negotiations to maximize order volume and minimize risk
• Manage the sales of additional products/services in support of other ABB business units
• Develop positive relationships at C-suite/ ownership level within channel partners, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer), End Users, Consulting Engineers, etc.
• Demonstrate strong leadership related to implementation of safety initiatives and ethical compliance

Your background

• Technical Degree – Bachelor’s in technical field preferred or a combination of education and experience required with at least 15+ years of relevant education and/or experience within a complex business environment selling products or solutions required
• Extensive sales leadership and VFD (Variable Frequency Drive)/HVAC application background with demonstrated ability to lead the selling efforts of technical solutions and services as well as account management history of OEM, End User and Commercial Channel Partners in the HVAC industry required
• Demonstrated industry influence and demand creation mentoring highly preferred
• Understanding of customer needs, experience in the customer interface and strong presentation skills required
• Travel up to 50%
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and familiarity with CRM (Customer Relationship Management) software tool like SalesForce or Power BI required
