Job Description:
The Office of Academic Advising supports the education mission of The College of Saint Rose by enabling students to develop and implement sound educational plans consistent with their personal goals, values, and career plans. The Office serves as a central source of academic information where students receive assistance with advising-related concerns and interpretation of College policies, programs, and requirements. In addition, the Office provides appropriate support in helping all incoming students transition successfully to college.
The Academic Advisor provides individual academic advising and developmental college transition support for all first-year students. As part of the Academic Advising team, this position serves as a consistent point of contact to students from arrival on campus for orientation through the end of their first year. This position proactively builds a trusting and supportive relationship with new students, while identifying barriers to students’ academic success and develop solutions that improve retention. The Academic Advisor will work closely with Faculty Advisors, Academic Affairs and Student Development divisions on monitoring students’ degree requirements, designing initiatives that improve procedures and policies that positively impact graduation rates.

This is a full-time, full-year position. Some weekend work is required for recruitment events.
